Well, John Deere, John 3:16 has officially made it to radio stations all over.  Mailing out the singles was a “family affair…” The kids got pretty good at stuffing and stamping…  Several stations have already started playing my new favorite song!  We’ll soon be posting the stations that have already added it to their playlist.  Call in and request!  We believe in this song and want to get it out there – thanks for your support!

Had a great time in Jefferson City this past weekend…Stopped for a quick pic at the carousel… The ride attendant was very gracious in haulting the ride, so we could get a quick pic.  He was atimate about one thing – you had to be 150 lbs or less to actually get on the horses – notice how many of us actually made it on one…

Had a great experience at the Boone County Fair this past weekend.  The fair board there was amazing – I can’t believe how hard they all work, especially as volunteers!  They were all very gracious and treated us very well – we even had a crew to carry our gear – pretty awesome!  We had the opportunity to open for Jake Owen – he had a fantastic show and was a very nice guy…  Did I mention we had help with our gear?? Seriously, I could get used to this… Here is my drummer, Chad Middaugh, Jake Owen, and myself after the show…

Well, our fair season has officially started!  It has been hot. hot. hot…   Memphis, TN just about killed us – roadies would be an amazing addition at this point… I’d love to train my 10 & 12 year old sons to start this process in loading all of our equipment- not sure if that would be against some child labor laws or not…especially when the heat is 100+ degrees.  I’m thinking it’s a great way to build work ethic in them, yes???

We’ve met some amazing people already – just got to experience the first “Homemade Chris Filer tees” from some great fans…  Pretty Cool!   (Pic is attached)  If we haven’t seen you yet, come on out – we’ve been working really hard and would love to see you!

The latest single,  ”John Deere, John 3:16″, has just been mastered and sent off to the duplicators.  It will be shipped to radio stations soon!  We’ll also have it available on itunes – I’ll let you know when you’ll be able to download it, as well as request it from your local radio station!  Exciting stuff!

We are at one month from tomorrow until our “Fair Season” officially starts.  We’ve got a great schedule for July…into August and September as well!   We’ll be opening for some great artists including, Jake Owen, Easton Corbin, and Josh Gracin.  The bus is up and ready go to, and the band is as well!  We are really looking forward to getting out there and performing for and meeting some great people around the state!  I might have to break down and finally try those fried Twinkies I’ve heard all about… Check out the tour schedule and come see us, if you can!

Kelly and I just got back from a quick trip to Nashville.  We weren’t sure what we would see, but most of the areas we visited were back up and running.  While we were there, we did see & hear about several stories where people’s lives had been drastically changed.  Those experiences are definitely good reminders about how fast everything can change.  The people of Nashville have been amazing – it’s amazing to see how hard they are working to get things restored as quickly as possible.  I love that place.

The band and I played at the legendary Cain’s Ballroom this past weekend in Tulsa, Oklahoma.   Legends such as  Johnny Cash, Willie Nelson, and Bob Wells have played on that very stage.  It was very humbling to stand on that stage and perform.

Mom’s Day is coming up and I’ll be playing at a great venue, “The Farm,”  the Saturday before Mother’s Day.    It is a dinner theatre and is a great evening for all ages!  We’ve got a great line up for the night – Tate Stevens, Justin Schrock, and the Mathews Brothers will be joining the regular crew that night!  Check it out and make your reservations if you’re in the area!
